Lent Saints

40 Days of Free Lenten Printables: Saint Patrick Coloring Page

I couldn’t help it, I just had to draw a Saint Patrick Coloring Page.

Saint Patrick fits in so well with Lent.  He is best known for using the shamrock to help teach about the Trinity.  Although we have analogies like the shamrock to help us, none of our examples, analogies or explanations can fully describe the mystery of the Trinity.  So today use this coloring page to teach your kids about Saint Patrick, and the trinity.  When you are finished, say one of the easiest and best known Catholic prayers: the sign of the cross.

Did you know the sign of the cross is a prayer?  Don’t do it in haste or breeze over it like it is just the appetizer to your prayer dinner- but thoughtfully, focused and concentrating, say “In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit Amen.”

It’s often the first prayer we learn as Catholics.  It’s how we begin mass, and how we end mass.  It’s how we start prayers and end prayers.  Don’t over look the mystery and power in the simple sign of the cross prayer today and throughout this Lenten Season.

I made sure to include a few shamrocks in this, and a braid that is made with three strands.  I love symbolism in coloring pages.

Maybe while you’re coloring you can put on Saint Patrick: Brave Shepherd of the Emerald Isle, a CCC of America Movie.  We love these videos!

I hope you enjoy this coloring page and come back for more free printables!

Don’t forget, for a limited time, I have my printable paper doll Saint Patrick AND his pop-out scene posted for free! You can see it at this post.

Thanks for visiting!
