What I’ve been up to while not writing blog posts

Kristen, where are you?!

I usually post more frequently than I have been able to lately, and I thought I’d share a little of the goin-ons in my life right now.

1)Regular life with three kids- one’s a toddler (18mo) and homeschooling … so yea that’s enough to keep anyone from blogging much!

2) Catholic Schoolhouse. You probably know my close ties with CSH (my MIL is the founder, I’m the blogger/printables maker).  Well I’m also undertaking the exciting venture of starting a Chapter in North Alabama with my friend Jessica. Starting up a chapter is certainly part of God’s plan for me… finding a facility fast and in a Catholic church has not.  But I think we (Jessica and I) are both growing through the humility required to be constantly turned down by the Catholic Churches in the area for use of their building(s).  If you are local… exciting news is on the way (I think)! We may have found a place in which to have our CSH Chapter meetings!

If you have no idea what I’m talking about… check out www.CatholicSchoolhouse.com to learn more.  It’s a classical Catholic homeschooling program. We will meet once a week for a few hours during the school year. After using the CSH materials at home for the last few years, I’m super excited to have a community of other families learning the same stuff with their kids:)

3) And then I’ve been…..Not drawing coloring pages.  I’ve sort of gotten into watercolor painting.  I mean I’ve used watercolors a lot in the past to ‘color-in’ my drawn pictures, like in the Rosary Cards, or the Saint Paper Dolls, but lately I’ve been painting flowery stuff with scripture on top.

Since this sort of happened by accident, I’m just going to offer these for free.  I know a lot of people sell these types of files on etsy.  But I’m too busy (or maybe too lazy) to set up an Etsy shop right now, and I feel like if you want it- you should have it! (Click the downloadable link under the picture to get a non-watermarked version.) It started with this one I made for a friend’s wedding:

(the bride had registered for some sunflower decorated stuff- so I painted a sunflower)

Then I also have a friend having a baby this summer, so I painted her this:

And because I was on vacation the last couple days, I painted this one too:

But the lord stood by me and strengthened me

If you want to order a real print of this image (like a physical product), check out my Zazzle Store.  They print to order- so there’s no inventory for me to store and ship.  You can find this picture in poster format by clicking here.

So if this scripture brings you some peace, joy or even just gives you something to freshen up your walls with, then I’m happy!  Please DO NOT copy and paste on your own website, copy and sell, or distribute these pictures without permission.  They are for your personal use.  I painted them, and want you to have them, but please don’t take advantage of me.  If you want to share them with your friends, please send them a link to this blog post! Thanks!

Kristen

PS: I’m not abandoning coloring pages and printables for kids… just got a little side tracked for the past few weeks. Stay tuned for more coloring pages and fun Catholic printables!

Nice hearing from you. Your children are beautiful. They look so much alike.

Thanks! My littlest is a carbon copy of my oldest at that age (in looks only!) They might look alike, but God gave them each a very different personality 😉
