Spiritual Works of Mercy Coloring Pages: Comfort the Sorrowful

If I have been MIA lately, it’s because life has gotten really hard.  Things are starting to get better though, and I’m happily back at drawing the works of mercy coloring pages for you all.  The first one I have is Comfort the Sorrowful.

I feel like the spiritual works of mercy are more inherently incorporated into our lives than the corporal works.  Comforting the sorrowful can be as simple as a hug for a scraped knee, or as big as visiting a grieving widow.  The older I get, the more I realize our need as social creatures to be supported during our times of grief and sorrow.  We were not meant to bear life’s burden’s alone, and blessing someone with even just your quiet presence can be a huge help to someone. Little ones can practice this work of mercy, just with each other during life’s bumps and bruises or little disappointments. I know I’ve seen my 5 year old comfort my 2 year old when he’s fallen down or even lost a precious toy.

Whether you’re teaching works of mercy at home or in a church program, I hope these coloring pages are a blessing to you!  I’m planning to come out with a lapbook in the end. So stay tuned. 🙂 And thanks for sticking with me through my brief blogging hiatus.
